The Indianapolis Zoo and Rebekah's 1/2 Birthday!

We like to celebrate Rebekah's 1/2 Birthday since her birthday is so close to Christmas. This year as a part of her 1/2 birthday we went to the Indianapolis Zoo. Rebekah and Megan had so much fun and even got to feed a giraffe!

The zoo has a shark-touch pool. Here are the girls at the side of it trying to touch the sharks!

This walrus was so friendly--we think it must have been a baby. It was playing with Rebekah through the glass--it even looks like Rebekah is petting it!

Here is Rebekah feeding the giraffe--of course, I was unable to capture the exact moment the giraffe took the food from her.

We watched an elephant show!

After we got home Rebekah opened her presents and we had a fun dessert!

Having Fun on the Deck!

We have been having some really nice weather lately, and we love spending time on our deck! Here are some pictures of the girls spending an afternoon playing on the deck.

We recently got the sandbox out and they love playing in it and getting dirty!

Father's Day

We had a quiet Father's Day at home since Rebekah was still recovering. Daddy spent the day having fun playing with his girls.

Rebekah is Doing Well!

It has now been 2 weeks since Rebekah's surgery and you would never know that she had surgery. She is completely back to normal and is so happy to be able to run and jump again!

This is where Rebekah spent most of her time while she was recovering. We tried to keep her as busy as we could doing "sitting down" things.

Rebekah is opening a "care package" that Uncle Mike and Aunt Brigette sent.

Rebekah's Surgery

Rebekah had her tonsils out, her adenoids out, and tubes put in both of her ears yesterday. She did great through the surgery, but it totally wiped her out. She was such a trooper and didn't even cry when she woke up from the anesthesia! She is now in the process of recovering--yesterday was a tough day, but she is doing much better today.

In the car early in the morning on the way to the surgery center. She was so excited because Mommy told her that she would get presents after it was all over. If she only knew...

All ready to go! The stuffed dog "Fletch" that she is holding got to go with her into surgery and stayed with her the whole time. It was a big comfort to her. She was so brave and went willingly with the nurse when it was time to go to the operating room even though she was crying.

Right after they wheeled her into the recovery room. She woke up long enough to tell the nurse that she wanted an orange popsicle and then proceeded to go right back to sleep.

We were in the recovery room with her for 3 hours because she just couldn't stay awake. The general anesthesia must of hit her little body hard.

Finally awake enough to smile for a picture! Mommy and Daddy brought her the big doggy for when she woke up from surgery.

Ready to go home! She got to ride in a wheelchair to the car and then proceeded to fall asleep on the way home.

Home at last! Grammie came for Rebekah's surgery and had the couch all ready for her when she got home. All Rebekah wanted to do was sleep.

Our Latest Trip "Home"...

We took a trip back home to Illinois because Greg's dad was having knee replacement surgery. (It was also a good excuse for a visit.) The surgery ended up going very well and he is recovering nicely now. Here are some pictures from our visit...
