Our Vacation

We finally took a vacation...our first real one since our children have been born! We drove up to Mackinac Island with Annette's parents. Of course, there were just too many pictures to choose from to post, so here are just a few...

On the ferry we took to Mackinac Island! It was basically a 16 minute speedboat ride.

As we were approaching the island, the Grand Hotel was visible.

We took a private carriage ride for a tour of the island. The houses in the background go for 2-6 million dollars.

At the butterfly house...Rebekah managed to get one on her finger.

A favorite past-time was feeding the seagulls off of our balcony...those birds were NOT shy!

Some Recent Pictures

We thought it was high time to post some new pictures. Here are some of the first part of our summer...

Dropping Grammie off at the Indy Airport. It was the girls' first time to an airport--they got to see the planes and got to ride on those moving sidewalks. Needless to say, they had a blast!

A Coldstone treat with Mommy right after Megan got her hair cut.

They are always coming up with creative things to do with all those stuffed animals.

A recent trip to the mall...

We were at an event in downtown Lafayette and the girls got to get a balloon made

of whatever they wanted--see if you can guess what they picked... The guy making them did incredible work! Rebekah got a unicorn horse--you can see her holding the "reins".

Megan got a unicorn, pegasus horse. The white balloons are supposed to be the wings.

Yes, we celebrated Rebekah's 6 1/2 birthday. Here she is with the cupcakes Mommy made.

She got to open presents, some of which she shared with Megan.

We also took the girls to a new place in town called "Monkey Joe's". What a cool place! It is an indoor playground filled with those blow-up jumps and slides. They had an absolute blast! I wanted to go jump too!

Rebekah and Megan were supposed to be racing, but Megan slid late. You can see her all the way at the top.

I will say it again....what fun they had!!!

It has been Grandad's mission to make our backyard a playground of sorts. On this last visit he installed a new swing! The girls are loving it!

Easter!

This year Grammie and Grandad McDonald came to visit for Easter. It was a short visit, but packed with lots of fun for the girls.

Our church had a huge "Easter Extravaganza" on Saturday. Here is Rebekah "hunting" for eggs.

A Few More Pictures...

Just thought you would enjoy seeing a few more pics of Rebekah and Megan at work...and play.

Lately the thing, especially with Megan, has been helping Daddy with the dishes after dinner. Daddy washes the dishes and then lets Megan rinse them. In this shot Rebekah was helping to dry them.

This was just this afternoon. After lunch, the girls took right off and played really well together for over an hour. In this shot Megan was pretending to be sick and Rebekah was taking care of her.

She Lost Another One!

Rebekah lost another tooth last night! She has been begging Mommy to pull it for the past two days and when Mommy finally decided that it was time, Rebekah, of course, put up a valiant 20 minute fight! We got it out with Daddy's help (pinning her down--by the way, she didn't even feel it come out) and Rebekah was very happy to have another visit from the tooth fairy!

In case you have lost track, she lost the one on the bottom last night.

Megan sure has had fun watching Rebekah get her teeth pulled. After watching all the drama unfold, we have to wonder what she will do when it is her turn.

Grandma and Grandpa's 41st Anniversary!

Greg's parents came for a visit at the beginning of March and ended up celebrating their anniversary with us! Here they are with Rebekah and Megan...

Our Toothless Daughter!

We can't believe that Rebekah has finally lost her two front teeth! She has been working on these for quite some time. Finally, on February 13th, after we got home from the museum, it happened (after about a 45 minute ordeal--notice the red, wet eyes). It just got to the point where were not comfortable putting her to bed with such a loose tooth. Actually, it took us completely by surprise that she lost both of them in the same night. We just thought we were pulling her right tooth. After we finally got the right one out, we noticed that the left one was all of a sudden VERY loose. Rebekah ended up being very thrilled that they both were out and was very happy to get a double-dose of the tooth fairy.

Just after the first tooth came out--this was before we realized that we had another tooth to go...

After it was all over--notice the relief on her face--she was a very happy girl at this point!
